SUBMISSION FOR AUCTION

GREAT INTEREST AT CHRISTIE’S

LONDON, March 15. Great interest centres in the auctioning at Christie’s on Wednesday of a portion of the Russian State jewels, which experts think will possibly realise £250,000. Yesterday was view day, and a stream cf sightseers visited the auction rooms.

When the doors closed an inconspicuous lmousine drove up and Queen ous limousine drove up and Queen privately examining the pathetic treasures. The room presented the appearance of a fairy palace, resplendent with a nuptial crown of brilliant gems, pearl tiaras, necklaces, and the rarest gems. —A. and N.Z. cable.
