ENDED FOR TIME BEING. LABOUR COMMUNIQUE. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received February 25, 10.15 a.m. SHANGHAI, Feb. 24. The strike has been called off. A Labour Union communique states: ‘‘The general strike lasted five days, and, as the result of the self-sacrificing efforts of fellow workers, it met with considerable success. In view of the continued' from the merchant body, the General Labour Union has undertaken to take steps with a view to ending the strike for the time being. This, however, does not necessarily mean that the movement is over because we will continue our efforts to attain our ideals.”—A. and N.Z. cable.
