WELLINGTON v. MELBOURNE

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 25. The Wellington versus Melbourne match commenced to-day in fine weather and on a perfect wicket. Dakin and Rodgerson stood out of the Melbourne team. Brice won the toss and Hiddleston' and Hollings opened to the bowling of Ransford and Ebeling, the latter having the assistance of a fairly strong northerly wind. At the luncheon adjournment Wellington had scored 100 for the loss of one wicket.
