Waimariuo lias been tho name of the, railway station at tho top of the Spiral over since the Main Trunk lino has been in existence. It is the gettingoff place for visitors to the Tongariro National Park, as well as for tourists who wish to go to Taupo, Wairakei and Napier by that route. Some time ago an agitation was set up to have the name altered to National Park, and tho Railway Department has agreed to change tho name of the station as suggested as from May 1.
