DOCTOR’S TALES.

MURDER CONFESSION

45-YEAR-OLD CHARGE

NEW YORK, March 30

Dr, Osbaldeston, aged 93, who was arrested by a 91-year-old sheriff on a charge of horse-stealing dating back 45 years, tells a different story each time he gives evidence. He was asked te amplify a statement about having lost his wifo in the Australian bush when both were searching for tho explorers, Burke and Wills. His memory was, however, bofuddled on this point.

To-day’s tale is that his second matrimonial venture was with a New Zealander, and that later ho married a third wife in America.

His confessions indicate a Jekyll and Hyde past. They include tho killing of a man in Germany, after a quarrel over a woman.
