ENGINE OVERTURNS.
DRIVER KILLED. THREE PASSENGERS ESCAPE. SYDNEY, April 1. A steam tram, at Kogarah, jumped the rails after descending a steep hill. Tho engine overturned pinning the driver, Leslio Slay ter, underneath the wreckage. He was killed instantly. Three carriages left tho rails, and one, which travelled a considerable distance at terrific speed, crashed into a telegraph polo and badly injured the conductor. v Only three passengers were aboard and they escaped with slight injuries. —Press Association.
