PAHIATUA, April 1. Tho police are investigating an alleged caso of attempted incendiarism at C. W. Smith’s billiard saloon in Wakemau street. The fire was apparently smouldering for some time, but was detected before any greaj; damage was done when Mr Smith went to open the premises in the morning.
