LOSS OF THE KARU.

WRECK TO BE EXAMINED,

Per Press Association

AUCKLAND, April 1. When the Karu inquiry was resumed Air Meredith stated that the Marino Department was anxious that the vessel, which is. now on the beach, should be examined by an engineer. That would place beyond doubt whether Halliday’s evidence was correct.

It was suggested that there was nothing against Captain Richmond and that lie be allowed to withdraw from tho inquiry. Tho Court would hardly go that far, but it would say there was nothing in the evidence to effect his certificate.

The inquiry was- adjourned till April 28th.
