SHOW DATES.
SUGGESTION REGARDING ROYAL SHOW.
Tho matter of Royal Show dates clashing with fixtures for other associations was raised by Mr J. IT. Perrett, president of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, at a meeting this morning of the general committee of that body.
The speaker mentioned that he Iyd spoken to Mr Perry at Hastings and had been informed that that gentleman was in favour of this year’s Hoy al Show being held earlier than usual. The matter was of great importance to the association, which now could not alter the dates for its fixture. If the Royal Show were held a week earlier than the local fixture, that would be quite satisfactory to the association, for it would get stock on its way back from Auckland. Ho thought that an emphatic protest should be made against the holding of the Itoyal Show after the Manawatu fixture.
Mr D. Buchanan suggested that the Royal Agricultural Society be asked to hold its fixture early in October, and this, after a brief discussion, it was decided to do, Mr H. Y. Lethbridge undortalcing to raise the matter at tho next meeting of the-society’s executive.
