JOB CONTROL.

GLARING INSTANCE. MELBOURNE, Dec. 26. The delay in connection with the Manuka is the eighth out of eleven sailings. It was again due to job control, tho vessel being delayed while the firemen argued, sang and fought on tho decks. It was a most glaring and unpardonable case of job control, and represented a serious loss to the company. Six firemen were missing at four o’clock, but four of them returned intoxicated. At five o’clock they decided to leave again, accompanied by the other firemen. All roturned to the ship by seven o’clock, with tho exception of one, who was replaced by another man, and the vessel sailed.— Press Association.
