THE RECENT ELECTIONS. OTTAWA, Nov. 1. The Montreal Gazette prints a Quebec item saying that there will be a session of tlio House of Commons within three months, according to a message from Mr Ernest Lapointe, Minister of Justice, adding that the Premier, Mr Mackenzie King, and the Liberal Government, would not resign from office. The standing of the political parties to-night is 10U Liberals, 116 Conservatives, 23 Progressives, 2 Labour, 1 Independent and 3 doubtful. The Liberals can only retain office with the support of the Progressives, Labour and Independent. Cabinet will meet in Ottawa on Monday, after which there may bo an announcement by the Premier.—A, and N.Z. cable.
