DOMINION CRICKETERS.

CHANCES IN AUSTRALIA. STIFF PROPOSITION. Received October 27, 9.35 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 27. The Daily Telegraph, reviewing the New Zealand cricket team, says: “New Zealand conditions are similar to the English and the visitors will probably take some time to accustom themselves to Australia’s fast, fiery wickets. The Dominion possesses some good batsmen, but the bowling department is lamentably weak. There are very few first-class trundlers and on Australian pitches, they will find their task much harder. AVith the English trip ahead the States competing for the Sheffield Shield wilL field their strongest teams; consequently the New Zealanders aro up against a stiff proposition.”—Press Association.
