LESS CRIME.
WAVE HAS CEASED. COMMENT BY CHIEF JUSTICE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. The Supreme Court criminal sessions opened to-day. before the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout. In his charge to the Grand Jury the Judge said,: ‘T am glad to be able to inform you that the list this session is very small and that there are . really no serious cases, so it is perfectly plain that what was mentioned on a previous occasion is still true, namely, that the crime wave which followed upon the war has ceased. All of the cases are simple ones.” James AVard and Charles Morgan pleaded guilty to theft and breaking and entering and were remanded for sentence.
