MANAWATU RETAINS WILSON CUP ' In ideal weather on Saturday, Manawatu defeated a challenging Masterton team for the Wilson Cup, Horton being the only Masterton player to win his match. He was in splendid form, however, and went round in 73, although he met with two stymies and took 15 for the first three holes. Manawatu easily retained the cup and also won all four-ball i matches. Details of tho play are as follow: Wilson Cup.—Horton beat Ekstedt; Percy lost to L. Seifert; Flannery lost to Hutchison; Dr Moser lost to J. E. Lewis; Kebbell lost to W. MacMillan; Hay lost to S. W. Rapley; H. E. Hart lost to O. Druce.

Four-ball.—Horton and Percy lost to Ekstedt and Seifert; Flannery and Moser lost to Rapley and Lewis; Ivobbell and Hay lost to Hutchison and MacMillan; Hart and Coom lost to Druce and. F. J. -Nathan. JULY BOGEY.

There was a tie for the first place in the July bogey played on Saturday, W. Strang and B. Keiller sharing the honours. The best cards were:—W. Strang (5) 1 down, B. Keiller (14) 1 down, S. Monday, 28th September: Morning and 1 afternoon, professionals’ championship), first round 36 holes, amateur championship, first round, 36 holes play off, also bogey handicap for amateurs not engaged in amateur championship.
