“How many lawyers can New Zealand absorb?” asked Mr F. Tate, a member of the University Commission when evidence was being heard to-day. Professor Hunter said there were 210 law students at Victoria College and Professor -\lgie said there were 180 at Auckland. Ron G. Fowlds said that students had no choice in Auckland. They either had to take law or education or go (o Dunedin, which they could not afford. Most, of the students went to the Bar. Professor Hunter said that a great many of the 210 students lit, Victoria College would never get through; the casualty list, was high. , - Mr Tate: You sec to that?
