WINTER SHOW

PREPARATIONS IN PROGRESS.

A SCENE OF ACTIVITY. A visit to tho Showgrounds this morning disclosed a hive of industry in preparation for the opening of the 1925 National Dairy Show on Tuesday. Interest in the event has steadily grown as is indicated by the fact that demands for space are still coming forward. All the customary space has been already allocated and the space committee is faced with the problem of meeting all the demands, all sorts of corners having been brought into use to meet the situation. The interior of the exhibit hall is, in itself, a scene of activity, for the intending exhibitors tiro engaged in setting their sites in order, stagings and fixtures being erected and bunting and decorations displayed, while many of tho bulkier exhibits are already on the ground. Tho continuous line of halls in this building will undoubtedly prove an asset, for they havo each been allotted distinct duties. No. 4; which adjoins the exhibition hall, has been set in preparation for the entertainment section of the evening activities, a commodious stage having been erected in the centre of the hall which will permit of ample seating accommodation, while along the outer wall a series of tiered seats have been placed in position. Here will be presented the Highland dancing, wrestling and boxing events which will, without doubt, prove an attractive feature of tho show. All the floorage of No. 5 hall has boon let to motor firms and companies for the display of motor cars, trucks and tractors, a very fine display being thus assured, while No. 6 will house that important section. the poultry display. The produce hall has already been prepared for the receipt of exhibits, and to-day found a number of factory managers, engaged in setting their cheese exhibits in position. Despite the indifferent climatic conditions which at present prevail, some of the side show proprietors are braving the elements, setting up tho outdoor attractions which ever find favour with the juvenile section of tho attended.

The general public are reminded that now is the time to take up membership as the forthcoming is the first of the two annual fixtures and the privileges thus gained apply to both shows.
