BRIDGE! DECKING GIVES WAY.

HAMILTON, Jan. 7

A narrow escape from a serious accident occurred on New dear's Day. A lorry driveji by Mr F. Parsons, of Hamilton, and returning from Arapuni, Horahora and Cambridge with 32 members of tho Hamilton Methodist choir, passed over the Mangapiko swamp bridge, the decking of which was in a much-decayed condition. The planks gave way as the vehicle went along, but fortunately did not let it through, a hole 30 feet long by two feet wid{> ing left, however, to mark its passage.
