AIRMAN OVERDUE.

GENERAL SIR WILLIAM BRANCKER

Received December 6, 8.5 a.m. CONSTANTINOPLE, Dec. 4. General Sir William Brancker, British Director of Civil Aviation, was expected hero yesterday, but lias not yet arrived. —A. and N.Z. cable. A Reuter message from London dated November 20 stated that General Brancker had left by air for Paris, on route to India, where he would discuss the question of tho air line between Indiu and Burma, and also the establishment of an uirship base in India in connection with ihe projjosed new airship service from Britain to India. It was added that General Brancker would be the first to fly from Britain in a civil machine across Turkey to Constantinople, Angora arid Aleppo. General Brancker was to discuss with the Turkish authorities tho establishment of a permanent airway to India by that route instead of via Egypt.
