RIFLE SHOOTING
MINIATURE CLUB'S COMPETITIONS. •SEASON'S SCORES TO DATE. On Monday evening the first round of shooting matches by the district miniature rifle clubs for tho McKelvie and the CHffe and -Remington Cups was concluded. The former is competed for by teams travelling to each other's ranges and shooting each match in company, while the CHffe and Remington cup is made the subject of a series of postal matches. In this case the clubs shoot on .their own ranges and post the results in to the controlling body. The marksmanship has so far not been up to the standard expected, but it is steadily improving as the competitions advance. Detailed results are as follow: McKELVIE CUP. Linton beats Awahuri.
