BOXING TOURNEY.
PROFESSIONAL FIGHT TO BE STAGED.
A meeting of the Manawatu Boxing Association was held last night to further the arrangements in connection " with the tourney to be held on Saturday night, Mr H. E. Bennett presiding. When the entries were being considered, it was announced that several "entrants had suffered injury at football and would be compelled to withdraw". It was decided to endeavour to provide an additional attraction in the form of a professional fight and _ two well and favourably known lightweights afe being approached on the matter. Three fly-weights, four feathers, four- light-weights, two welters and two middleweights purpose seeking championship honours, and a good team should be forthcoming to represent Manawatu at the centre champiorships in Wanganui next month.
