A man named D. 11. S. Borrowman, charged at Feilding on Friday last with being an idle and disorderly person, wAs convicted and discharged, but ordered to leave the town within a given time. This he failed to do, with the result that he was again brought before the Court yesterday on a similar charge, and was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment with hard labour in Wellington gaol. Anthony Moghan, who was at Taihape on Saturday committed to appear at the next sitting of the Wanganui Supreme Court to answer a charge of murder, was taken under escort to Wellington this morning, where he will remain pending his trial. This action was taken at the request of accused’s counsel.
