BODIES IN PIT SHAFT.
WOMAN WHO DISAPPEARED. LONDON, May 24. Standing in water up to his armpits in a disused pit shaft at Simmondley in Derbyshire, a collier scooping in mud and stones with his hands discovered a human body; also part of an adult trunk, and portions of a child’s body—all believed to provide the key to the mysterious disappearance in 1920 of Hannah Oalladine and her two children, aged four and 14 months. Search had been going on for a fortnight. Soon after Mrs CalJadino came to the district she found she was the victim of a bigamous marriage. She was last seen at night carrying her baby near the pit. The elder child disappeared a day or two later.
