NOTED SUFFRAGETTE.
LADY CONSTANCE LYTTON DEAD
LONDON, May 23
Lady Constance Lytton, one of the prominent leaders of the women’s suffragist party in the agitation before the war, has died at the age of 54. She was four times imprisoned, and went on hunger-strike twice, being released on the first occasion because of the state of her heart. On the second occasion she disguised herself as a working woman, and was forcibly fed. She was an invalid ever since.
