CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE
DEMAND LESS KEEN. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 1. At the further wool sales there was a full ring of buyers, but the demand was not so brisk as at the previous sale and was inclined to drag at times. There was an all round easing of prices, although the fine wools were less affected than the coarse, but the wool generally was not in such good condition as previously. As the sale progressed and some of the better lots were offered it was evident from the prices paid that the demand was quite as keen as at the last sale for all super fleece wools, though crossbred was not quite so firm, and for all shabby wools the demand was weaker, the prices being from Id to Igd per lb lower than at the previous sale. There were a good many passings. Merino fleece made up to 27|d, Corriedale 23f,d, halfbred 26d, three-quarter bred 19d and crossbred 16Jd.
