following appeared In our Second Edition of yesterday:—

THIEVES AT DUSSELDORF. LARGE SUM OF MONEY STOLEN.-.. Received February 23, 9.5 a.m. PARIS, Feb. 27. The Matin’s Dusseldorf correspondent reports that two men, one speaking fluent French, entered a bank and represented themselves as French financial agents. They demanded that all the florins held by the bank be handed over; otherwise they would call in the French troops. They were given seven million marks’ worth of florins and left a receipt with the bank manager, who presented the receipt an hour later at the French office. He was then informed that he had been cleverly hoaxed by two thieved—Reuter.
