PARLIAMENTARY NOTES.

Mr McCombs (Lyttelton) pressed the -Minister for Justice on Friday for an explanation of ihe Crown Law Officer’s opinion, that the Justices’ Act did not authorise the appointment of women justices. The Minister said that this opinion had been given for very many years by successive Crown solicitors. It was not tho Government’s intention to amend tho law.
