SAVINGS BANK FACILITIES.
MR NASH'S QUESTION' IN THE HOUSE. The member for Palmcrston North, Mi ,1 A. Nash, asked in the House, during the latter part of the week, whether the Postmaster-General would supply a return showing: (a) The number of persons attended to sit the bavincs Bank Department m the I ost Office at Palmcrston North between the first and fourth days ol any month, and (b) whether, after such return had been obtained, and he was satisfied that more assistance was required, he would provide same immediately. Mr Nash appended the following note to the question:—"At the present time it, is a common occurrence for business men to have to wait for fully half an hour before receiving attention. In proportion to population a larger business is done in Palmcrston North than in any other city or town ill New" Zealand, and it is impossible for the staff to cany on under present conditions." The Minister concerned replied that he would give instruction to have the matter looked into, and if necessary would take steps tu remedy the trouble.
