In referenco to the British and German shipping conference regarding the New Zealand trade, it is stated that British companies have been given to understand that the Kaiser expressed a wish for the establishment of a direct service from Hamburg. He is also responsible for the oontinuance of the mail paasenger subsidy for the Nord Deutsoher service to Australia.
