As anticipated, Mr Andrew Fisher's censure motion in the Federal Parliament was negatived on the easting vote of the Speaker. Twenty-two votes on each side, unci with five pairs, the full strength of the House was accounted for. The Addrew-in-Reply was then idopted on the voices, and the House adjourned.

CRISIS IN NEW SOUTH WALES

LABOUR PARTY'S DILEMMA

Received September 5, 9.25 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 5. The Herald predicts that, owing to the death of Mr Kelly (a Labour member) and the consequent critical state of the parties, there will bo an early and abrupt termination of the State session. Mr Holman (Premier) vouchsafed no reply to a question in tho Assembly as to whether he was in a position to contradict persistent statements that the session going to end next week. Mr Wade's question as to whether the Government intended to issue a writ for the vacant seat also failed to draw information. The Herald adds: "It is understood that a meeting of the caucus issued a ukase to the Ministry that in view of the closeness of the numbers Parliament should close without delay."

The Redistribution Bill introduced into tho Assembly provides for an increase of the membership to the Council from eighteen to twenty, and the Assembly from forty to forty-six.
