According to a letter from a trader in the New Hebrides an expedition from a French warship, sent to Epi to punish the natives for the recent murder of a French planter, seised and bound the natives of three Tillages, raided the houses, and confiscated the property found therein. The natirea were kept aboard the warship till the actual murderors, who belonged to another Tillage, were handed over. Only a portion of the proi>ertv was returned.
