Obituary.—Oolonol Tom Price, who commanded the Victorian Mounted Rifles in the Boer war and afterwards was Commandant of the Victorian forces until his retiring in 1904. lie was tho son of John Price, supposed to be the original Maurice Frere 0 Marcus Clarke's "For the lerin of His Natural Life." He was ultimately murdered by convicts, ten being executed for the crime. _ Col. Price became notorious over his alleged order to the troops during tlio maritime strike, to "lire low and lay 'cm out.
