Mr G. R. Askwith has left Hull, and negotiations havo been broken off, though tho seamen's representatives are seeking to porsuado the men to agree to amend their claims, thus enabling thorn to reopen negotiations. The seamen are determined to support the dockers' demands. Tho tug boatmen have struck, thus affecting tho handling of twenty-three steamers including the Lusitania. They declared that they were not dissatisfied but wero intimidated by strikers. Subsequently a settlement was readied. All Liverpool firms engaged in tho coasting trade, including dockers' leaders, are convinced that tho whole strike will be settled to-morrow.
It is officially announced'that tho Cunard, White Star, and other combine lines, also Harrison's will recognise the docker unionists and attend- a conference within a month for settlement of wages and conditions of labour,

Hence tho dockers decided not to interfere with tho removal of foodstuffs from warehouses to shops. Somo Hull boats havo diverted to tho Tyno to unload. 'Tho Royston Grange, with a partly-de-livered cargo of frozen meat, arrived at Newcastle from the Thames with a nonunion crew, but tho dockers refuse to unload. , Tho corn market at Newcastle is almost blocked with wheat, which is hold at an advance from 3d to 6d. English wheat rose a shilling, Flour is senrco and getting clearer.
