"At the time of the historical Civil "War in America between North and South over the slavery question, the feeling between these two portions of the United States took the greatest form of antagonism, and was responsible for the civil outbreak. Although it is many years since the last battle was fought, a good portion of the feeling still remains, and it is with the object of eradicating this that Mrs Lasalle Corbett Pickett, widow of the famous Confederate genera], is preparing a campaign to draw closer the bonds between the two portions of the country. Mrs Pickett states that there is a necessity for the complete forgetfulness of all discords connected with those stirring times.
