The Dominion Government is advancing six million dollars to the Montreal Harbour Commission to provide additional port facilities. The contract with the New Zealand Shipping Company provides for monthly sailings from Montreal in summer and St. John in winter, calling at Halifax. The subsidy is £2000 a month. The rates must not exceed those from similar ports in tho United States.
