BOT FLY AMONGST SHEEP.

(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, March 8. An outbreak of the trouble amongst sheep known as nasal hot is causing some concern. The hot fly, which is similar to that which attacks horses, finds the sheep most vulnerable in the head, the grub being located in the nasal air passages, causing irritation and swelling. On one large coastal station 5000 sheep are reported to be affected. The Agricultural Department staff has been kept busy during the last few days responding to the demand for treatment. So far there has been little, if any, mortality.
