I have had it repaired with timber, but consider a concrete culvert should bo put in 4in by 2in inside the present culvert, as there is a possible chance of the whole filling* getting scoured out. The timber in the present culvert is not very sound, and in some places the sill is scoured out. Taonui Riding.—The team and mim have been engaged on Bunnythorpc-Kai-ranga road. Aorangi and Rongotoa roads. Mr Jensen has completed his contract for metalling on No. 1 Line. Mr White has also completed his contract for Hamilton's Line and Jackeytown road. One of the regular men has been working pn the concrete works. The concrete bridge at Jack's Creek has been completed except plastering and tarring tho deck; the bridge is fifty-two feet ovor all, by eighteen feet clear roadway. TJja structure above the piles weighs aLxA.it 130 tons, including two tons of steel. The culvert on railway lino at Murray's has been completed and opened for traffic. This culvert was increased in sii.e from five to ton feet,, so that 'the two creeks could be joined together, thus cutting out one culvert which can be taken out and the crook filled in. The culvert at
Kelvin Grove will be completed in a few days. Cr. Bryant reported that the Council should agree to the request of Mr Lovelock to assist in making drain.-* to relievo the roads near his property.—The matter was left with Cr. Bryant with power to act.
