SUPREME COURT.

(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 8. At the Supreme Court Joseph Williams, convicted yesterday of assault with intent, was to-day sentenced to nine months' hard labour. Thomas Veitch, convicted of theft, was sentenced to two years. Charles Burney was sentenced to three years for forgery, and six months for having escaped from custody. WELLINGTON, Feb. 8. At the Supreme Court the jury disagreed in the case of John Henry Ireeon, charged with breaking, entering, and theft at Greytown. A new trial was ordered, accused meantime being admitted on bail. Tho hearing was commenced of an arson charge against Eberhardt Ferdinand Renner, but was not concluded.
