FAT LAMBS AT MANAWATU SHOW.

LONDON RESULTS. , The,secretary of the Manawatu A. and , P. Association, \M.r J- G. Lane, is m receipt of details with- regard to the fat lambs entered in tho freezing classes at the Manawatu Show, and sent Home for final arbitrament. Tho lambs were sent Home per s.e. Whakarua, and the report was made by H. S. Fitter and Sons on February Yth. In class 282. lambs most suitable for freezing and the London market, longwoolled, the judging in the pen was practically reversed. Mr J. A. Mitchell, Longburn, had two lots exhibited. Those numbered 5a were second in the pens at Palmerston, but first at home. They are described as of good quality, well covered, short legs. Mr Mitchells 4a, exhibit, third here, were placed second at Home. Two are described as being of very good quality, three fair quality; fairly short legs, very useful size. Mr G.H.Elliott's (Havelock N., H. 8.) sheep wore first in Palmorston, but third at Home. They are described a3 being of fair quality, rather plain legs. Mr J. Hensen's (Rongotea) sheep, in the same class, are stated to bo of middling quality, rather thin and plain. In classes 283. Down or Down crosses, most suitable for freezing and the London market, the judging in the local pens is fairly well borne out at Home. Mr W. Richmond's (Rongotea) sheep, second here, were first at Home. ( Thev are described as being of very good qualify-, nice size, well covered. Mr Richmond's next pen in the same class, which were first here, were second at Home. They also are of very good quality, well covered, and short legs. Mr J,, A. Mitchell's entry, unplaced at Palmerston. were placed third at London. They are described as being of very fair quality, two not quift) thick enough. Mr J. Hc'nsen's two lot's, including the third prize pen at Palmerston, were described as of fair quality, the first pen not quite finished and the second rather thin and with plain legs. Mr G. H. Elliott's sheep in the same class were also stated to be of very fair quality, three somewhat plain. The lambs realised 14s net at Palmerston, the Gear Company not charging any commission.
