The Unemployed.

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Per Preßs Association.)

LONDON, Nov. 18,

The newspapers warmly ap- rec-ate New Zealand's offer of a shipload of food for the unemployed. General Booth, interviewed, said the unemployed fund on a basis of charity was of no permanent good. If the appeal next year on the same basis was repeated aD even larger sum of money would be required. He would not pay unemployed in money lest they" should go to the public-house, but he would pay their rent or Gs or 7s a week for groceries aud food. He would do this for the sake of the wives and children.
