Wootton-Cavell.

A wedding which attracted much interest took place in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church this morning, when Mr James W. Wootton, youngest son of Mr and Mrs S. Wootton, of Dunedin, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Phoebe Cavell, the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Cavell, of Campbell street, Palmerston North. The Eev. X Jolly conducted the .service. The bridegroom was attended by Mr A. Clark, of Dunedih, as best man, while the bride was accompanied by ;Miss Clara Wood, as chief bridesmaid, and also by two little maidens, Reki and Louie Wood, and Miss Cavell, the bride's sister. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a very pretty cream voile dress, tastefully trimmed with accor-deon-pleated chiffon and niched satin ribbon, also with white violets on the front. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a very handsome shower bouquet which was made and presented by her cousin Miss Daisy Wood. The bridesmaid, Miss Wood, wore a becoming cream serge costume and bluo hat, and carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers. The little ones were prettily dressed in spotted muslin and white poke bonnets trimmed with primroses. They also carried crooks decorated with the same flowers. The bridegroom's present to the bride and also to the bridesmaids were very handsome gold brooches. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Orange Hall, Lombardstreet, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was.laid. A large number of guests sat down to partake of the hospitality provided. - The happy pair were the recipients of a large number of useful and valuable presents, including the gift of the wedding cake from the bride's uncle, Mr T. Cavell. Congratulatory telegrams were received from different parts of the colony, the Premier and the Hon. J. Carroll being amongst those who forwarded their felicitations.
