But the strange and sudden deaths of tlie five children had excited the suspicions of the young lady's parents, and the authorities were communicated with. An inquiry was opeued, and it is now proved that Signor Marcini starved the children to death, while it is strongly Euspected that he got rid of his wives in a similar uianuer.
