Palmerston Licensing Committee.

The quarterly meeting of the above was lipld yesterday. Present— Messrs Greenfield (chairman), Wood, Snelson, Jack and Ravenhill. The police report was, on the whole, of a favorable nature. . An application for a transfer of the license of tlie Masonic Hotel, Ashurst, from P. Hanlon to John Gavanagah, was struck out, owing to the non-ap-pearance of the former. An application by Mr Tasker for the name of the Federal Hotel to be changed to the Cafo de Paris Hotel (the original name of the premises) was granted. On the application of Mr-Gooke a temuoraiy transfer of the license of the Clarendon Hotel from Mr Taaker to Mr Watkina was granted. An application for a temporary transfer of the license of the Cafe1 de Paris Hotel from J. Nicolson to F. J. Tasker was granted. ■
