Sylvia, youngest daughter of Rev. Mr and Mrs McDonald, Avas admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday and was operated on this morning for the removal f.f tonsils and adenoids. "The term of the appointment of Sir Wfilliam, Hall-Jones as a Legislative Councillor expired yesterday and the Prime Minister stated that the Government had recommended the Governor-General to reappoint Sir William to that position. Lord and Lady Bledisloe left for Australia yesterday by the Monowai. They will spend 11 days visiting Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, and Sir Frederick McMaster’s sheep station at Balkeith (New South Wales). They are returning by the Wanganella, reaching Wellington on October 23.
