Persistant rioting is reported from Sicily, the outbreak being due to the pressure of local taxation. Mobs are burning the public buildings and the residences of the tax collectors, while an immense amount ot damage is being done in other directions. Signor Cvispi has appealed to the municipal authorities on the island to see that the taxes are levied as equitably as possible, and is sending troops to maintain order. In the riots four persons have been killed and many wounded. The Anarchists who have been expelled from Paris and other Con tinental cities are flocking to London. The Anarchists have written to the authorities threatening to dynamite the Eastern Railway line. The Anarchist who threw the bomb in the Barcelona Theatre, and the Italian who placed the bombs ( under a seat have both been arrested. They have since confessed. The Kabyle tribes in the vicinity oi Melilla have agreed to pay the Moors £140,000, as indemnity tor the recent insurrection, in which they declared their intention of dethroning the Sultan. Money is being supplied to Russian Jews to enable them to emigrate to Americ.i, but Mr Gresham, Secretary of State for the United States, has informed the Russian Government that admission into the country will be refused to this class of emigrants. The Riots in Sicily still continue. In Caltanisetta, one of the fortified cities on the island, a mob fired on the Town Hall and the Mayor's residence. Signor Crispi has promised to help the working classes to obtain a remission of the unfair taxation if they stop disorder. A widespread Anarchist plot has been discovered in Orleans.
