ULTIMATUM TO THE GOVERNMENT.
NEW WAR MEANS GENERAL
(Received Aug. 10, 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, An?. 1). A Labor Conference, held'in tho Mouse of Commons, passed the following resolution—That this ioint conference, representing the Trades Union Congress, the Labor Party and the Parliamentary Labor Party ieeis certain that a war is bein" engineered between the Allied Powers and Soviet Russia over Poland. It declares that such a, war would be n intolerable crime against humanity, and warns the Government that th.> w-holo industrial power of the orrnml jsed workers will be used to defeat it, that: the executive committees of affiliated organisations throughout tho country will be summoned to hold themselves ready to proceed immediately to London for a national conference, that they will be advised to instruct their members to ".lown tools on instructions from that national conferenca, and that a council win be constituted immediately to take such steps as will be necessary °n'il arrT t.lns d9«sion into effect. " Ihe decision is unquestionably an ultimatum to the Government that a new war will mean a general strike all over the country.
