ALCKLAND, Aug., 11 A charge oi murdering Douglas Pinpi or Phillips at Mokau, which was made against a Maori named Wirenm Peta, was reduced to one of manslaughter by the Grand Jury at the Criminal Sessions of the bupreme Court. ,
His Honor, in reviewing the case, said that the accused's story was that Piripi and he got into grips. Piripi attempted to throttle him, and during the struggle a gun which belonged to Piripi went off.
