SPREADING IN NELSON

NELSON, June 26. # The San Jose scale has been discovered in an orchard at Thorpe, in the Dovedale district, widely distant from Stoke, where it was first reported.
The inaction of the Department, though the scale was known to exist six years ago, is causing some ferment among fruit-growers.
