HORRORS OF RUSSIAN RULE.
A despatch from Berlin, dated June 17th, sayß:—
Mall advices from Lodz, in Russian Poland, give an account of the disturbances there on Monday last.
About five thousand young Jewish workmen paraded the streets in an orderly manner as a Socialist demon stratum. The police, in view of the number engaged, called on the Cossocks for assistance, and then the police and Cossacks charged the workmen, beating them with the flat of their swords and with their fists, mercilessly continuing the beating after a number had been arrested and were helpless.
Ib is said that they also beat prisoners at the station, where " blood ran in rivulets." It is reported that ten young men were beat n to death, and one hundred who wore arrested were all seriously wonnded. Surgeons were busy for hours sewing up the wounds after the fury of the police had been spent.
