ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
Press Association. Electric Telegraph. Copyright. Thames, Jane 20. The death of Mrs John Butt, relict of Capt. Butt, has occurred. Deceased was one of the oldest residents. She came to Auckland fifty-five years ago, and shortly after married Capt. Butt and settled in the Thames district. Her husband was a member of the Provincial Council and also several local bodies, Wellington, June 20. The body fonnd floating in the harbor on Thursday night has been identified as that of a laborer named William Abbott. A verdict of found drowned was returned at the inquest.
A SHOOTING FATALITY.
Nemon, June 21.
A shocking fatality occurred at Collingwood last night. Two brothers named McGrane were larking together when the elder, aged 19, picked up and pointed a pea rifle at the younger, believing it to be unloaded. The weapon went off, and the lad was shot ie the face, death resulting; The elder brother was arrested on a charge of manslaughter.
