In the discussion some diversity of opinion was manifested, but eventually by 17 to 3 it waa resolved that tbe meeting take such measures aa may hereafter be agreed upon to assimilate the New Zealand Eduoation Act to the English Act IS7O, in the clauses that relate to religious instruction. It waa. also decided to hold a publio meeting.
